BOY MEETS WORLD Favorite Mr. Turner Returning for GIRL MEETS WORLD

Boy Meets World fans haven't seen Mr. Turner since his motorcycle accident back in 1997. That'll change during Season 2 of Girl Meets World. The show's writers confirmed on Tuesday that Anthony Tyler Quinn will return as Jonathan Turner, the teacher who became a father figure to Shawn Hunter.

Suspicion over Quinn joining the growing list of Boy Meets World actors reprising their roles for the sequel series, Girl Meets World, had been bubbling up since Will Friedle tweeted a photo of himself with Quinn last week.

Girl Meets World has held the promise of picking up Mr. Turner's story since the show's inception. Boy Meets World/Girl Meets World creator and showrunner Michael Jacobs told Entertainment Weekly in 2013 that he hoped to get the character into his new series.

"If I get my way, you will find out what happened to Mr. Turner, and you will find out what happened to everybody," Jacobs told EW. "[Quinn] was one of the first people who got in touch with me after [Girl Meets World] was announced. And what it made me realize is not only does the audience, but the people who were on the show have a fondness for [the show]. So I will not answer your question … because I will answer the question on the series."

The Disney Channel renewed Girl Meets World for its second season in August.
