Wolverine leaked on the Internet today ...

In what a lot of people thought was an April Fool's joke, an almost finished cut of X-Men Origins: Wolverine was leaked onto the Internet. Here's what Fox had to say about this:
Last night, a stolen, incomplete and early version of X-Men Origins: Wolverine was posted illegally on websites. It was without many effects and had missing scenes and temporary sound and music. We immediately contacted the appropriate legal authorities and had it removed. We forensically mark our content so we can identify sources that make it available or download it. The source of the initial leak and any subsequent postings will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law - the courts have handed down significant criminal sentences for such acts and the last person who committed such a crime is still in jail. The FBI and the MPAA also are actively investigating this crime. We are encouraged by the support of fansites condemning piracy and this illegal posting and pointing out that such theft undermines the enormous efforts of the filmmakers and actors, and above all, hurts the fans of the film.
Needless to say, good luck stopping this thing from spreading once it's online. I'm not going to say what site I watched the film on (I honestly don't know – I just clicked a link to it and watched), but I watched it. A film this big – Wolverine is Fox's tentpole this summer – leaking a month before it hits theaters is a pretty big deal. I debated whether or not I would post this review, but decided to go ahead with it since, for the most part, Fox comic book films exemplify all that is wrong with the way adaptions of comic book films are treated. I've discussed this issue at length previously in regards to what a box office fail for Watchmen would mean for the future of really good comic books and graphic novels being turned into movies.

I'll have the review up when we get closer to the release date ... but ... unless they have some wicked awesome reshoots up their sleeves, it's not good ...
