Isla Fisher and Joel Edgerton Featured in New 'Great Gatsby' Posters

Baz Luhrmann's adaption of The Great Gatsby was originally supposed to hit theaters on Dec. 25, 2012, so in another timeline, we would be choosing between The Great Gatsby, Les Miserables and Django Unchained when it came to Christmas Day movie watching. For reasons still not completely clear, Warner Bros. decided to make The Great Gatsby a summer movie, changing the film's release date to May 10, 2013. This was pretty disappointing, since The Great Gatsby was expected to be a major Oscar contender, with star Leonardo DiCaprio aiming to claim his first Best Actor statuette.

While we won't be getting the film itself this December, Warner Bros. has begun to release some pretty nice character posters for The Great Gatsby, debuting posters for Isla Fisher's Myrtle Wilson and Joel Edgerton's Tom Buchanan on Monday. You can check them both out after the jump.

The Great Gatsby also stars Tobey Maguire, Carey Mulligan and Jason Clarke. The film will be released in 3D, something that I had originally doubted the reasoning behind. I mean, The Great Gatsby — the great American novel — in 3D? Why? After seeing what Ang Lee did with 3D in The Life of Pi, I have hopes that Luhrmann managed to use 3D in the same creative and nuanced way.
