Why Would a Man with Claws Need a Katana? 'The Wolverine' Gets a Moody Motion Poster

After the disaster that X-Men Origins: Wolverine was, it seems like Fox realized they had screwed up pretty bad and set about trying to repair the damage. X-Men: First Class was a good starting step last year, and it looks like the studio is serious about getting things right with its next two X-Men offerings. X-Men: Days of Future Past has exploded into a massive film that will deal with time travel while bringing together the original trilogy's cast and the cast of First Class. Bryan Singer is even back to direct.

While reports point to Hugh Jackman's Wolverine appearing in Days of Future Past, the actor is busy with his own film: The Wolverine. Forget everything that happened in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, since Jackman and director James Mangold have made it clear that their mission is to deliver the craziest Wolverine movie yet, dropping the hero in Japan and forcing him to confront his own near-immortality.  The Wolverine doesn't have a trailer yet, but Fox released a great poster a few months back, and now the studio is adding to that with a motion poster. I gotta ask, though, why would a man with six built-in claws need a katana?

Check out the motion poster for yourself after the jump.
