FIRST LOOK: Pixar Will Probably Win Another Oscar with Upcoming Animated Short 'The Blue Umbrella'

Pixar's struggles with recent films like Brave and Cars 2 aside, the studio has a stellar record when it comes to delivering animated shorts that are instant classics. The wordless La Luna, which ran before Brave, was nominated for an Oscar for Best Animated Short last year. The studio's next animated short will be The Blue Umbrella and will run before Monsters University this summer. From the Wall Street Journal, here's a brief synopsis of the short:
Amidst the rain in a singing city, two umbrellas - one blue, one not - fall eternally in love.
I'm curious to see how similar The Blue Umbrella will be to Walt Disney Studios' Paperman, their 2012 animated short that will most likely win an Oscar in a few weeks. Either way, the short clip that the WSJ premiered today shows that Pixar is exploring new animated territory with The Blue Umbrella. Check out the clip and a pic (courtesy of BleedingCool) after the jump.
