'Guys and Dolls' Adaption Coming; Channing Tatum and Joseph Gordon-Levitt May Be New Sinatra and Brando

When Deadline broke the news that Fox had acquired the long-sought-after movie rights to the musical Guys and Dolls, the site also dropped the interesting factoid that the studio was very interested in bringing Channing Tatum and Joseph Gordon-Levitt on board to star in the roles once filled by Frank Sinatra and Marlon Brando. There's no deal in place, Deadline reports, but there seems to be some mutual interest between the involved parties.

We've known for awhile know that Gordon-Levitt can sing, with his Saturday Night Live hosting gigs and performance in (500) Days of Summer making that quite clear. Tatum's singing skills are another question, but there's no doubt he knows his way around a dance floor ... or, a Magic Mike-style stage. The duo have already starred in a film together, with both having roles in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. That's probably not what has Fox eyeing them for Guys and Dolls, though.

With rights to Guys and Dolls only just being secured, the project still has a ways to go before fans can see Tatum and Gordon-Levitt together on the big screen. There's also the chance Fox's dream casting doesn't work out. Hey, as long as they don't bring in Russell Crowe to attempt any singing, we should be fine.
