FIRST LOOK: Buzz Lightyear, Woody and Jessie in 'Toy Story of Terror' TV Special

Pixar's Toy Story movies aren't just some of the studio's greatest work, they make up one of the greatest trilogies in film history, with Toy Story 3 arguably being the best animated movie ever. After Toy Story 3 appeared to wrap up the franchises time on the big screen, Pixar went to work telling new stories with the characters we've long loved through shorts. In addition to Partysaurus Rex debuting as the third Toy Story Toon last year, Pixar also announced that two Toy Story TV specials were in the works. The specials would be half an hour long and air on ABC. (Gotta love that Disney synergy.)

On Tuesday, Pixar gave us our first look at Toy Story of Terror, the first of those TV specials. From TV Guide, here's what we can expect from Toy Story of Terror:

"Bonnie is on a road trip to go see grandma with her mom and the toys are in the trunk," producer Galyn Susman says. "Mom gets a flat tire and they have to spend the night at a motel and all kinds of chaos ensues." 

While Terror will include Woody, Buzz, Mr. Potato Head and Rex, Jessie will have a more prominent role in the special. "We've gotten to see a lot of development in Woody and in Buzz and we felt it was Jesse's turn to really show some growth." Susman says. 

Additionally, Bonnie's toys — Mr. Pricklepants and Trixie — who first appeared in the third installment, will be featured, while we'll also get to actually meet Combat Carl, who briefly appeared in the first film when he was blown up by Sid, who will be voiced by Carl Weathers.

Toy Story of Terror will air sometime around Halloween and star the voice talent of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Don Rickles, Wallace Shawn, Joan Cusack, Timothy Dalton, Kristen Schaal and Carl Weathers.
