TRAILER: After His Daughter Is Kidnapped, Hugh Jackman Will Go Beyond the Law to Save Her in 'Prisoners'
Here's a film that seems to be flying under the radar despite boasting a spectacular cast. Prisoners stars Hugh Jackman as the father of a girl and her friend who are kidnapped. When his character isn't satisfied with the police work done by Jake Gyllenhaal's character, Jackman's character takes the law into his own hands and captures the man he believes took his daughter, played by Paul Dano, and holds him prisoner.
In addition to Jackman, Gyllenhaal and Dano, Prisoners also stars Terrence Howard, Viola Davis, Melissa Leo and Maria Bello. The film is directed by Denis Villeneuve, who previously directed the Oscar-nominated Incendies. While Prisoners could easily go the way of Taken (or even Taken 2, yeesh), the film's cast and director make me think it could have a shot at being a respectable movie.
Prisoners hits theaters on Sept. 20, 2013. Head past the jump to watch the film's first trailer.
