TRAILER: 'Jobs' Presents Ashton Kutcher as Iconic Apple Founder Steve Jobs

Despite every instinct of mine pushing me to make fun of Jobs, especially after seeing that some genius thought a movie about Steve Jobs was begging to have Macklemore's Can't Hold Us be its theme song. The first trailer for Jobs, the biopic not being written by Aaron Sorkin, stars Ashton Kutcher as the iconic Apple founder. It should be easy to mock Kutcher. I could insert a Von Dutch trucker hat joke here somehow. There's something about seeing him embody Jobs that's keeping me from doing that though. It's probably because I'm an Apple Kool-Aid drinker.

Could Jobs actually be good? Based on early previews, the movie has a 43 percent on Rotten Tomatoes right now. As I learned with the Man of Steel reviews, Rotten Tomatoes gets things wrong sometimes. I'm not saying they're wrong about Jobs, but may — just maybe — there's something redeemable about it.

Or it'll be awful. Either or.

Jobs hits theaters on Aug. 16, 2013. In addition to Kutcher, the movie stars Josh Gad, Dermot Mulroney, Matthew Modine and JK Simmons. Head past the jump to check out the first trailer for Jobs.
