Sigourney Weaver Joins Neill Blomkamp's 'Chappie'
Sigourney Weaver knows science fiction. She's appeared in the Alien franchise, one of the genre's most acclaimed series of movies. And she's appeared in Avatar, the genre's highest grossing movie. Weaver will next join Neill Blomkamp's Chappie, working with one of the genre's newest bright minds for her next film.
The Hollywood Reporter has the following plot summary for Chappie:
Whoa, a robot? No way.
Chappie is Blomkamp's third mainstream film, following District 9 and Elysium. In addition to Weaver, Chappie will star Sharlto Copley (who's voicing Chappie), Hugh Jackman and Dev Patel. The movie is scheduled for 2015.

"After being kidnapped by two criminals during birth, Chappie becomes the adopted son in a strange and dysfunctional family. Chappie is preternaturally gifted, one of a kind, a prodigy. He also happens to be a robot."
