Starz Let Michael Bay Make 'Black Sails,' a TV Show About Pirates, and It Has a Trailer

A Michael Bay project usually comes with three guarantees: Explosions, hot girls and badass helicopter shots. Sadly, Bay's upcoming pirate TV series Black Sails will only be able to deliver on two of those promises. (No helicopter shots. Sorry, pirates hadn't figured that technology out yet.)

Starz released the first trailer for Black Sails over the weekend, giving us our first look at the series that is being set up as a prequel to Treasure Island. I'm assuming not Muppet Treasure Island, though.

Black Sails doesn't premiere until January 2014, but the series has already been given a second-season pickup thanks to the positive reaction it received at Comic Con.
