TRAILER: Josh Brolin Holds Kate Winslet (and Her Heart) Captive in 'Labor Day'
As a director, Jason Reitman has a pretty good streak going. Between Thank You for Smoking, Juno, Up in the Air and Young Adult, he has two Best Picture nominations. Not bad for a 36-year-old guy. I'm not sure if Labor Day, Reitman's next film, will add to those accolades, but with stars Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin, we should at least get a quality movie.
The first trailer for Labor Day debuted on Thursday, giving audiences a look at the movie. Brolin plays a fugitive who convinces a mother, played by Winslet, to allow him to take sanctuary in her home. With the police looking for Brolin's character, he and Winslet's character form a bond, and along with her son, they became a tiny dysfunctional family for a few days.
Tobey Maguire plays the adult version of the sun, narrating the film. Between this and Maguire's narration in The Great Gatsby, it looks like the actor is making a play for Morgan Freeman's narration crown. Psshhh. Who would attempt to challenge to Freeman?
