Bryan Singer Teases 'X-Men: Apocalypse' for May 2016

X-Men: Days of Future Past hasn't even hit theaters yet, but Bryan Singer is already looking to what happens after that movie. The director took to Twitter on Thursday, tweeting, "#Xmen #Apocalypse 2016!" Additional reports confirmed that Singer's tweet was Fox's way of announcing X-Men: Apocalypse for May, 27, 2016.

While X-Men: Days of Future Past is still half a year away, the trailer that was released in October was extremely promising. It looks like Singer is ready to make us forget about Brett Ratner's time with the franchise and X-Men Origins: Wolverine with the next X-Men movie.

We're still waiting for more information from Fox on X-Men: Apocalypse. Will it focus on the original trilogy's cast? Will it focus on the X-Men: First Class cast? Based on the time travel nature of X-Men: Days of Future Past and the fact that the original X-Men are now in modern day in the comics, could X-Men: Apocalypse feature a mix of those casts?

Fox must be pretty confident in what they're seeing from X-Men: Days of Future Past to already start planning the next film.
