'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' Moves Up a Week, Believing 'Fast & Furious 7' Will Be Delayed

On Tuesday, Fox moved Dawn of the Planet of the Apes up a week, changing the movie's release date to July 11, 2014. The upcoming Planet of the Apes sequel was originally scheduled for July 18, 2014, but with it looking possible that Fast and the Furious 7 will be delayed, Fox jumped on the earlier date.

This isn't the first time Fox has shifted Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, previously moving the movie from May 23, 2014, to the July 18 date.

The past few weeks have really kicked off promotion for the summer 2014 movie season, with The Amazing Spider-Man 2, X-Men: Days of Future Past and Godzilla all getting (pretty awesome) trailers. Word on the street is that a trailer for Dawn of the Planet of the Planet of the Apes has been rated and could be seen with The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes stars Andy Serkis, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Jason Clarke and Judy Greer.
