Screen Actors Guild Nominations Favor '12 Years a Slave' and 'Breaking Bad,' Snub 'Wolf of Wall Street'

The Screen Actors Guild announced its nominations for its 20th annual awards on Wednesday. The SAG Award nominations are so far the highest honors announced since awards season began last week.

On the film side, 12 Years a Slave led the nominations with four. The biggest surprises for film seem to come in the Supporting Male Actor category, with Captain Phillip's Barkhad Abdi and Rush's Daniel Bruhl edging out actors like The Wolf of Wall Street's Jonah Hill and American Hustle's Bradley Cooper. Then again, the SAG Awards did completely ignore Martin Scorsese's Wolf of Wall Street. I highly doubt they hated it — this was probably more of an instance of Scorsese finishing the film so late it didn't make SAG's nominations deadline.

Over in the TV segment of the SAG Awards, Breaking Bad led the field with four nominations. Fellow AMC drama Mad Men was completely shutout.

The 20th Annual SAG Awards ceremony will be held on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014.
