Jake Johnson Confirmed for 'Jurassic World'
Jake Johnson's name has been rumored to be a part of Jurassic World since October, and on Wednesday, the news was confirmed by The Huffington Post. In an interview with HuffPo, the New Girl star discussed his role in the Jurassic Park sequel.
Besides reteaming with Colin Trevorrow, his Safety Not Guaranteed director, Johnson's movie career appears to be taking off. He'll star alongside Damon Wayans Jr. in Let's Be Cops this summer.
Jurassic World is set to open on June 12, 2015. Johnson joins a cast made up of Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Nick Robinson, Ty Simpkins, Omar Sy, BD Wong and Irrfan Khan.
Did you get involved with "Jurassic World" because of Colin Trevorrow, who directed you in "Safety Not Guaranteed"?
Absolutely. Now, I'm also a huge fan of "Jurassic Park." When I was growing up and "Jurassic Park" came out, I freaked out like every other kid. I was born in '78, so I was, like, 12. If it wasn't Colin and someone said they wanted me in "Jurassic Park," I would jump on it. The fact that it's Colin, written by Derek Connolly (who wrote "Safety Not Guaranteed") and both those guys are personal friends, I'd go through a wall.
