Danny Boyle in Talks to Direct 'Steve Jobs,' Wants Leonardo DiCaprio to Play Jobs
With David Fincher out of the running to direct the Steve Jobs biopic, Sony has quickly moved on to its next choice, entering early talks with Danny Boyle.
While Fincher wanted Christian Bale to play Steve Jobs, The Hollywood Reporter reports that Boyle is eyeing Leonardo DiCaprio to play the Apple founder. THR does note that neither Boyle or DiCaprio have locked in a deal for Steve Jobs.
I was totally on board with Bale playing Jobs, but I'm not sure about DiCaprio. He's obviously one of the greatest actors of his generation, but DiCaprio can't seem to disappear into a role based on a real-life figure as well as Bale can. DiCaprio also has a ton of other projects on his plate, making it unlikely the actor could board Steve Jobs as quickly as Sony would like to get the film in motion.
