'Parenthood' Actress Rosa Salazar Joins 'Divergent' Sequel

Casting for the Divergent sequels has kicked into high gear the past week, with Summit adding Naomi Watts and Daniel Dae Kim to Insurgent, the second film in the franchise, over the past week. On Monday, The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that former Parenthood actress Rosa Salazar had joined Insurgent as Lynn.

"Lynn is one of the Dauntless-born initiates, and, in Veronica Roth's books, she's described as beautiful and sporting a shaved head," THR writes. She's good friends with Uriah and Marlene (Waterhouse) in the books."

In addition to Parenthood, Salazar appeared in American Horror Story: Murder House and will play the "snarky receptionist" in Rob Lowe's upcoming sitcom, The Pro.

Salarzar joins Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Jai Courtney, Ansel Elgort, Ray Stevenson, Zoe Kravitz, Octavia Spencer, Miles Teller, Maggie Q, Kate Winslet, Watts and Kim. Flightplan director Robert Schwentke takes over for Divergent director Neil Burger. Insurgent opens on March 20, 2015.
