'Skyfall' Actor Ben Whishaw Replaces Colin First as Voice of Paddington Bear in 'Paddington'

Paddington Bear has found his voice. The Daily Mail reported on Thursday that Ben Whishaw will voice the hat-wearing bear in Paddington. Whishaw replaces Colin Firth, who left the film last month after citing a Paltrowesque "conscious uncoupling."

To American audiences, Whishaw is best known as Q in the most recent James Bond movie, Skyfall. Paddington producer David Heyman told The Daily Mail that they were looking for "a slightly more open, and younger, voice" after Firth left. It seems that Whishaw is that voice.

"I resisted a little bit, because I had a bad experience doing this kind of work in the past and I thought I was no good at it," Whishaw told The Daily Mail. "But  I was persuaded to go, slightly grudgingly."

Paddington is scheduled to open in British theaters on Nov. 28 and in America on Dec. 25.
