'Star Wars Rebels' Soars With New Trailer and Shows Off the Inquisitor's Lightsaber in Clip

I'm officially excited for Star Wars Rebels now. I had fears that the show would be childish when Lucasfilm first introduced it, but I'm sold now. Absolutely sold. Lucasfilm released a new trailer and clip for Star Wars Rebels on Thursday. There's so much Original Trilogy awesomeness in what we're now seeing from Rebels, it's gonna be impossible for Star Wars fans to resist the series.

The new trailer honors the original Star Wars movies not just through stars blurring as a ship jumps to hyperspace or a gruff sidekick mocking the Force but also by bringing R2-D2 and C-3PO into the mix. I'm not sure how often they'll be in Rebels, but seeing C-3PO standing next to a droid based on Ralph McQuarrie's original concept art for C-3PO is fantastic.



Lucasfilm also premiered a short clip from Star Wars Rebels on Thursday night through Entertainment Weekly, releasing a clip of Jedi Kanan Jarrus and Ezra Bridger facing off against the Inquisitor. We've seen double-sided lightsabers before but never one like what the Inquisitor has.



Star Wars Rebels airs this October on Disney XD.
