BOY MEETS WORLD Alumni Angela and Shawn's Dad Are Coming to GIRL MEETS WORLD
Slowly but surely, Girl Meets World is turning into Boy Meets World: Part II. The show may have started off with a focus on Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel's Cory and Topanga, but it wasn't long before Rider Strong returned as Shawn. In addition to bringing back Will Friedle's Eric in the upcoming Season 2, Girl Meets World is also going to see the return of two figures from Shawn's past.
Variety reported on Tuesday that Trina McGee and Blake Clark will appear in a Season 2 episode titled "Girl Meets Hurricane." On Boy Meets World, McGee play Angela, the on-again-off-again girlfriend of Shawn, and Clark played Shawn's father who passed away during Season 6.
No word on how Angela and Shawn's dad will interact with Shawn or the Matthews family. Variety notes that Shawn's dad appeared on Boy Meets World "through memories or as a subconscious guide" and will continue to do so on Girl Meets World.
In a June 2013 interview, Boy Meets World/Girl Meets World creator Michael Jacobs told fans to not expect a happy ending in the future for Shawn and Angela.
"Nothing good happens to Shawn, that's all I can tell you," Jacobs said during the ATX Television Festival. "Rider reacting to the hurdles that keep growing is what I think is compelling about Shawn. Rider once said something — and I really take to heart everything that these people say — he said, 'I keep Shawn in the cellar, and every once in a while, I'll go down and I’ll visit him.' And I thought to myself, 'boy, even Rider keeps Shawn in the cellar,' so I think nothing good is ever gonna happen for Shawn."
Sounds like this won't be a happy episode for Shawn. As long as he don't get drunk and pee on a cop car, I guess he'll be OK.
