Felicity Jones in Talks for STAR WARS Spinoff, Aaron Paul in Consideration

The first Star Wars spinoff has landed an Oscar-nominated actress. The Theory of Everything star Felicity Jones is in talks for the female lead in director Gareth Edwards' Star Wars standalone movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter. 

Jones was first rumored to be in the running for this role last month along with Tatiana Maslany, Kate Mara and Rooney Mara. There had been a report last week that Maslany has won the role, but that proved false. 

THR also reports that Aaron Paul and Edgar Ramirez are in the running for film's male lead. 

At this point, Lucasfilm has given us zero details on Edwards' spinoff Star Wars movie. It opens on Dec. 16, 2016, and production should be starting soon.
