OFFICIAL: FULL HOUSE Sequel Series FULLER HOUSE Is Coming to Netflix

No word yet on whether the milkman, the paper or evening TV will be coming along, but Netflix announced on Tuesday that it was bringing back Full House as a 13-episode sequel series titled Fuller House.

"In Fuller House, the adventures that began in 1987 on Full House continue, with veterinarian DJ Tanner-Fuller (Candace Cameron-Bure) pregnant and recently widowed, living in San Francisco. DJ’s younger sister/aspiring musician Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin) and DJ's lifelong best friend/fellow single mother Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber), along with Kimmy's feisty teenage daughter Ramona, all move in to help take care of DJ's two boys — the rebellious 12-year-old JD and neurotic 7-year-old Max — and her soon-to-arrive baby," Netflix announced in a statement.

Yes, the title of the sequel series comes from the fact that DJ's hyphenated her last name to add "Fuller." I made jokes about that when rumors were circulating a few weeks ago that a Full House revival was happening and that it would be called Fuller House.

The first episode of Fuller House is expected to be a one-hour reunion show, with John Stamos already on board in addition to Cameron-Bure, Sweetin and Barber. Netflix is in talks with Bob Saget, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Dave Coulier and Lori Loughlin.

Stamos appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday night to confirm that Fuller House was heading to Netflix before the streaming service made the announcement itself.

Funny how Fuller House is basically doing the same thing Girl Meets World did, repeating the basic premise of the original series while flipping the genders of the main characters. While Full House had  widower Danny raising his three girls with the help of his brother-in-law Jesse and best friend Joey, Fuller House will have widow DJ raising her three boys with the help of her sister Stephanie and best friend Kimmy. If the premise worked two decades ago, why change it?

"The continued support of Full House fans of all ages for the last 28 years has been astounding," executive producers Robert L. Boyett, Thomas L. Miller and Jeff Franklin said in a statement. "It is an honor and a thrill to catch up with these beloved characters and explore their lives today. The love you saw on the show was real. The cast has remained a loving family off screen all these years. We are as excited as our fans to finally bring Full House back to life.”
