Will Zack Snyder Tease the BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Trailer on Thursday?
Our first look at Batman v Super: Dawn of Justice could be coming much sooner than we originally thought. It was reported last month that Warner Bros. was planning on debuted the first trailer for the movie with the release of Mad Max: Fury Road on May 15. That plan made sense, since it would begin the rollout of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice after Avengers: Age of Ultron and the next Star Wars: The Force Awakens consumed the attention of the pop culture world at the very beginning of May.
It turns out that the studio and director Zack Snyder may have other plans and those plans could include taking on Star Wars: The Force Awakens head-on. Latino-Review editor Umberto Gonzalez reported on Tuesday that Snyder will reveal the first five seconds (yes, five seconds) of the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer at 12 p.m. ET on Thursday, just an hour before the Star Wars: The Force Awakens panel is set to begin at Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim.
After that, fans will have the chance to sign up online to see the full trailer on Monday, April 20 before it begins running in front of Avengers: Age of Ultron on May 1.
Latino-Review's reporting has been dubious at times, but Collider confirmed most of the report shortly after it hit Instagram. Collider couldn't vouch for the Batman v Superman trailer running before Avengers: Age of Ultron. The site did reveal that the trailer is reportedly 2 minutes and 30 seconds long.
I don't quite see the reasoning behind Snyder and Warner Bros.' thinking on this plan. When the new Star Wars trailer premieres at Celebration and goes online almost simultaneously, it's all Twitter and the Internet is going to be talking about. Batman v Superman has about 60 minutes to enjoy the pop culture spotlight.
