WORLD WAR Z Sequel Coming in June 2017
The studio has been working on a follow-up to World War Z since the film was a surprise hit in 2013, grossing $202.4 million domestically and $540 million worldwide. The Impossible director JA Bayona signed on to helm World War Z in December 2013.
This release date will put the World War Z sequel up against Fox's Fantastic Four sequel. Odds are one of these two films will shift their release dates, especially considering that the Fantastic Four reboot hasn't even opened yet. It could bomb or there could be further issues with director Josh Trank that could derail Fox's plans for a sequel.
Once again, I really hope Paramount finds a better title for the World War Z sequel. World War Z 2 is just dumb.
