When it comes to posters for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel has things down to a science. Every character gets a poster. The posters from Avengers: Age of Ultron look like the posters from Thor: The Dark World ... which look like the posters from Iron Man 3. Why break a winning formula?

Marvel Studios is trying something different with the character posters for Ant-Man. Entertainment Weekly debuted seven character posters for the upcoming film on Wednesday — and they don't look anything like what we've seen from the studio.

Instead of going big with each chapter, Ant-Man himself is the tiny focus of these posters. The characters themselves are in the background.

Ant-Man opens on July 17.
