Chris Hemsworth Joins GHOSTBUSTERS Reboot ... as the Receptionist

Chris Hemsworth has battled killer robots and protected princesses. His next movie role will be his most challenging: Receptionist.

Ghostbusters reboot director Paul Feig revealed on Wednesday that Hemsworth had joined his movie's cast.

Variety reports that Hemsworth was approached to join the movie as the team's receptionist awhile ago, but the actor passed on a role he saw as too minor. According to Variety, the role has since been fleshed out.

Hemsworth joins Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon on the Ghostbusters reboot cast. We've been referring to this movie as the female-led Ghostbusters movie because, well, Wiig, McCarthy, Jones and McKinnon represent a clear move by Sony and Feig to continue the director's knack for delivering movies with talented and successful female casts.

The new Ghostbusters movie is set to hit theaters on July 22, 2016. There's also another Ghostbusters movie in the works that could possibly star Channing Tatum and Chris Pratt with Joe and Anthony Russo directing. These two movies would theoretically kick off a Ghostbusters cinematic universe ... because everything has to become a cinematic universe these days.
