Get to Know Hank Pym, Hope Van Dyne and Darren Cross With New ANT-MAN Promos

It's time to get to know the characters in Ant-Man. You're probably already familiar with Paul Rudd's Scott Lang. Now Marvel Studios is rolling out videos highlighting Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne and Corey Stoll as Darren Cross/Yellowjacket.

In the Marvel comics, Hank Pym is not only the original Ant-Man, but he's also the creator of Ultron and the guy who discovered Pym Particles. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Tony Stark got the honor of being Ultron's dad, but there's still plenty for Pym to do in the movies. Based on the cast for Ant-Man, it looks like Pym spent his younger days hanging out with Tony Stark's dad and the founders of SHIELD.

There's been a lot of speculation over the role Hope Van Dyne will play in Ant-Man. She's Hank Pym's daughter, but her mother is no longer in the picture. That's a big deal when your mom was Janet Van Dyne — aka the Wasp and founding member of the Avengers in the comics. If Lilly isn't wearing the Wasp outfit by either the next Ant-Man movie or the Avengers: Infinity War films, it'll be a shocker.

Then there's Darren Cross. The character is the movie's villain and is set on turning the Ant-Man suit technology into military technology. He'll take on Ant-Man as Yellowjacket.

Ant-Man hit theaters on July 17.
