LEGO Made a SECRET WARS Captain America/Sam Wilson Minifigure Just for San Diego Comic-Con

I love LEGO ... but I hate LEGO's Comic-Con exclusives. USA Today revealed on Friday that a few lucky fans at San Diego Comic-Con will win a Sam Wilson minifigure. Unlike the previous minifig Sam Wilson available in the Hulk Lab Smash (76018), this one features the character as Captain America, specifically his costume from the ongoing Secret Wars event.

USA Today reports that this Sam Wilson minifig will be available during daily drawings from Thursday to Saturday at Comic-Con.

Both the Sam Wilson/Captain America minifigure and the Throne of Ultron set represent two things that are wrong with the idea of convention exclusives. If you're a regular LEGO fan not going to Comic-Con — the mass majority of us — the only way you'll ever get these sets is by paying hundreds of dollars on eBay. That's not right. Convention exclusives reinforce the idea that one group of fans is more deserving than others.
