THE IRON GIANT Is Returning to Theaters

Before Brad Bird directed Pixar hits The Incredibles and Ratatouille and made the move to live-action movies like Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol, he helmed a little animated movie called The Iron Giant. For many pop culture lovers, The Iron Giant is a classic. Sadly, the film wasn't a giant box office hit and only got a basic DVD release.

For a few years now, Bird has hinted that something could be in the works with The Iron Giant. On Wednesday, Entertainment Weekly broke the news that The Iron Giant was returning to theaters.

A remastered Signature Edition of the movie will play for just two nights as a partnership between Warner Bros. and Fathom Events: Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. and Oct. 4 at 12 p.m. The new version of The Iron Giant will include two new scenes.

EW reports that the remastered version of The Iron Giant will will be available on digital platforms this fall. Hopefully that means blu-ray too.

Bird debuted a poster for The Iron Giant: Signature Edition on Wednesday afternoon.

Hopefully this poster will be available for us commoners who can't make it to San Diego Comic-Con.
