Zach Galifianakis to Voice The Joker in THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE
Batman and Robin may suffer from a hangover in The Lego Batman Movie thanks to Zach Galifianakis joining the cast as the voice of The Joker. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news on Wednesday that the Hangover star was in final talks for the upcoming LEGO movie.
Galifianakis joins a voice cast that already includes Will Arnett, who is reprising the role of Batman from The Lego Movie, and Michael Cera, who will voice's Batman's sidekick, Robin. The Lego Movie co-director Chris McKay is helming the film.
Galifianakis is the latest in a long line of actors to portray The Joker. While Heath Ledger and Jack Nicholson brought iconic versions of the character to live-action movies (and Jared Leto is working on his own take for Suicide Squad), Mark Hamill is considered the greatest Joker in some circles thanks to his voice work on the character in Batman cartoons.
The Lego Batman Movie is set to hit theaters on Feb. 10, 2017.
