JACK REACHER Sequel Gets an October 2016 Release Date
Jack Reacher will return next fall. Paramount announced on Wednesday that the sequel to the 2012 movie will open on Oct. 21, 2016.
Tom Cruise is returning as the title character, with Ed Zwick taking over directorial duties from Christopher McQuarrie. A recent report has How I Met Your Mother star Cobie Smulders joining the sequel as the movie's female lead.
The original Jack Reacher movie made just $80.1 million domestically, but the $138.3 million the film brought in from the international market convinced Paramount to greenlight a sequel.
