There's a Raccoon with a Gun in 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Concept Art (PLUS: Logo Art for 'Thor,' 'Captain America' and 'Ant-Man')

Movie fans are now well aware of Marvel's massive information download at Comic-Con yesterday, officially announcing Guardians of the Galaxy, new titles for Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, showing off Ant-Man's test reel and wowing the crowd with Iron Man 3 footage. The studio also released the first bit of concept art from Guardians of the Galaxy, giving average fans their first look at the franchise that isn't as well known as The Avengers.

I'll be completely honest with you — I have virtually zero awareness of Guardians of the Galaxy. It's a comic book that I never read, so I'm going to be learning about these characters right along with you over the next few years. Based on my Wikipedia-ing, the concept art for the film shows, from left, Drax the Destroyer, Groot, Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon and Gamora.

I'm not quite sure how successful Guardians of the Galaxy is going to be. Marvel is going for an all-out space epic with this one, leaping up several levels from what we saw in The Avengers. Based on the studio's success and the fact that they pulled off The Avengers, I'm more than willing to give Marvel the benefit of the doubt on this one. They've got big plans for Phase 2 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and if the Guardians of the Galaxy are necessary to pull those plans off, go for it.

Head past the jump to check out the logos for Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Solider and Ant-Man.
