TRAILER: Will Tony Stark Lose Everything in 'Iron Man 3'?

In the early hours of Tuesday morning, Marvel debuted the first trailer for Iron Man 3. Set after the events of The Avengers, Iron Man 3 kicks off Phase 2 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe while pitting Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark against his greatest foe ever. When the Mandarin (played by Ben Kingsley) destroys Stark's cache of technology, the superhero is forced to create a his greatest Iron Man suit yet. Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce and James Badge Dale join Downey and Kingsley under the direction of Shane Black.

So how about this first trailer? IMPRESSIVE. Breath-takingly impressive. Whatever issues there were with Iron Man 2, they all appear to be gone now. From what we're seeing in this trailer, Iron Man 3 has weight, has atmosphere — there are real stakes in this film. I love that Marvel is going to have Stark deal with what happened in New York City (The Avengers). Man in a metal suit aside, this trailer feels more like something Christopher Nolan would do than the follow-up to Iron Man 2.
