Los Angeles Film Critics Association Names 'Amour' Best Film of 2012


Has a challenger to Zero Dark Thirty stepped forward? After The Master took Best Director, Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress at the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards, it looked like Paul Thomas Anderson's film would also go home with Best Picture. In an upset, Amour was named Best Picture. While this is a surprise, it shouldn't be a huge surprise. Amour, France's offering and the favorite for the Best Foreign Film Oscar, broke into the OscarIndex's top ten last week.

BEST SCREENPLAY: Chris Terrio (Argo)
BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY: Roger Deakins (Skyfall)
BEST DOCUMENTARY: The Gatekeepers
BEST ANIMATED FILM: Frankenweenie
