TRAILER: What a Twist! M. Night Shyamalan's 'After Earth' Brings Will Smith and Jaden Smith Together

Next year is apparently the year for movies about a post-human Earth. On the heels of the trailer for Tom Cruise's Oblivion comes the trailer for After Earth, a movie starring Jaden Smith as the son of a general, played by Will Smith, who crashes on a post-apocalypse Earth and must brave the dangers of a planet that has evolved to kill humans in order to save his father.

Here's the twist: M. Night Shyamalan is the director of After Earth. There was a time when a trailer for a Shyamalan movie would boast proudly that he was the movie's director, but Sony Pictures apparently doesn't want you to know that Shyamalan has anything to do with this one. After Lady in the Water, The Happening and The Last Airbender, how can you blame them? Shyamalan has become a toxic director, high on his own hype and addicted to contrived twists.

The Internet is already busy trying to guess what After Earth's twist will be. Is this really before humans existed and this is the story of how we came to Earth? Is Will Smith really a robot?
