Cory and Topanga's Daughter in 'Boy Meets World' Sequel Series Has Been Cast

The last time we got news on Girl Meets World, the sequel series to Boy Meets World, we learned that Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel had signed on to reprise their roles as Cory and Topanga. In addition to this, Rider Strong, who played Shawn Hunter, announced that while he supported Girl Meets World, he would not be joining the cast. Not as of now, at least. Besides finding out whether or not Feeny and Eric Matthews would be back for the show, the next big question was who would get the coveted role as Riley, Cory and Topanga's daughter.

Entertainment Weekly answered that question on Monday night, breaking the news that Rowan Blanchard had been selected to play Girl Meets World's main character. Unless you're a big fan of Spy Kids: All the Time in World in 4D, you probably aren't familiar with Blanchard's work. Here's what EW had to say about the casting:
“As soon as Rowan walked into the room, I was reminded of why Ben Savage was loved as Cory Matthews,” says Michael Jacobs, who’s producing the Girl Meets World pilot. “Rowan is real and accessible and I am hopeful this girl is about to meet a world that will love growing up with her as well.”
OK, now let's get this show on ABC instead of ABC Family. It's time to bring back TGIF for real.
