Keri Russell Joins the Fight Against Those Damn, Dirty Apes in 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes'

It appears that Keri Russell is having a moment. Years after her Felicity fame wrapped up, the actress is now everywhere. She's fantastic in The Americans, was the lead in Dark Skies, and now the actress has joined Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The sequel to 2011's Rise of the Planet of the Apes jettisoned Rise's James Franco and Freida Pinto, only to replace them with quite the cast. Russell follows Zero Dark Thirty's Jason Clarke, The Dark Knight Rises' Gary Oldman and ParaNorman's Codi Smit-McPhee in coming on board Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. It's not surprising that Russell has signed on as the film's female lead considering that Matt Reeves, the co-creator of Felicity, is its director.
