RED-BAND TRAILER: Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Chloe Grace Moretz Return in Violent and Profane 'Kick-Ass 2'

If you loved Kick-Ass, you're going to go crazy for the red-band trailer for Kick-Ass 2, which was released on Wednesday. Reuniting the cast of the original 2010 film, Kick-Ass raises the stakes and throws in a helping of Jim Carrey. Yes, the Jim Carrey that you grew up watching in movies like Dumb and Dumber joins Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Kick-Ass and Chloe Grace Moretz's foul-mouthed, knife-wielding Hit-Girl. We got a picture of Carrey in his Colonel Stars and Stripes costume a few months ago, but this red-band trailer is the first time we've seen the actor fully embodying the role. I gotta say, Carrey almost disappears into this part, and I think Kick-Ass 2 is going to be the film that puts him back on our radar.

I recently got around to reading Mark Millar's Kick-Ass 2, and I have no idea how they're going to adapt some parts of that book for this movie. If you've read the book, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Kick-Ass 2 hits theaters on Aug. 16, 2013. In addition to Taylor-Johnson, Moretz and Carrey, the movie stars Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Donald Faison and Clark Duke. Check out the red-band trailer for Kick-Ass 2 after the jump.
