Alfonso Cuaron's 'Gravity' Gets a Poster: Can George Clooney and Sandra Bullock Survive?

Alfonso Cuaron's Children of Men is a masterpiece. For some reason, the 2006 film received little attention during awards season, a real shame as it was one of the year's best. The director hasn't had a film since Children of Men, but that's finally going to change in 2013. After a few delays and cast changes, Cuaron will release Gravity on Oct. 4, 2013. The story that Gravity plans on telling is a very simple one. Two astronauts are on a spacewalk when their shuttle is destroyed, stranding them alone in space. Sandra Bullock and George Clooney play those two astronauts, filling in the roles after Natalie Portman and Robert Downey Jr. had once been in talks for the film.

Popculturology has included Gravity on its 10 Movies to Keep on Your Radar for the Oscars lists two years running now, choosing to again list it for the 2014 Oscars after the film wasn't released in 2012. Cuaron should be making more films. We should be thrilled Gravity is finally coming our way.

Check out the first poster for Gravity after the jump.
