Tom Cruise Signs On for 'Mission: Impossible V'
At some point over the next few years, chances are you'll get to hear that familiar Mission: Impossible theme song in theaters again. (Hopefully Limp Bizkit won't be performing it again, though.) On Monday, Deadline reported that Tom Cruise had signed on for Mission: Impossible V. The studios wouldn't comment on who might be directing the next installment, but reports back in December pointed to Cruise's Jack Reacher director, Christopher McQuarrie, being the man in line to helm the movie.
Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol was the best of the Mission: Impossible movies, and I'd love to see how Cruise and producer JJ Abrams follow that movie. No word yet on whether or not Jeremy Renner, who was set up in the last installment as the heir apparent to Cruise, will be back for Mission: Impossible V.
Fun fact: This series has been around so long, I saw Mission: Impossible II after my eighth grade formal at a General Cinemas.
