TRAILER: Winds of Vengeance Blow for Eva Green, Lena Headey and Rodrigo Santoro in '300: Rise of an Empire'
This may not be Sparta, but 300 lives on thanks to the sequel/prequel/sidequel 300: Rise of an Empire. The first trailer for the movie hit the Internet on Wednesday, as Warner Bros. is taking full advantage of the wave of publicity that Man of Steel is receiving. The studio also released the first trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug earlier in the week.
300: Rise of an Empire brings back Rodrigo Santoro's Xerxes and Lena Headey's Queen Gorgo while adding Sullivan Stapleton and Eva Green as Themistocles and Artemisia, respectively. Zack Snyder is listed as producer for the movie, with Noam Murro taking the director's reins. From the looks of this trailer, Murro has stuck very closely to both the look and slo-mo action that Snyder established in 300. I find this kind of funny, since while Murro is busy mirroring the stereotypical Snyder action in 300: Rise of an Empire, Snyder ditched his usual visual cues and went handheld for Man of Steel.
The movie hits theaters on March 7, 2014. Head past the jump to check out the first trailer for 300: Rise of an Empire.
