The 'Boy Meets World' Cast Reunites (PLUS: Will We Finally Know What Happened to Mr. Turner?)

When word got out last year that a sequel series to Boy Meets World was in the works, Popculturology's Anton Ali and I discussed a theory that Girl Meets World would launch Boy Meets World nostalgia to an even greater level. We even guessed that the show's cast would make talk show appearances to promote Girl Meets World.

Look who's in the pages of Entertainment Weekly's reunions issue and showing up on Good Morning America. While Girl Meets World won't premiere until 2014, Ben Savage, Danielle Fishel, Rider Strong, Will Friedle, William Daniels, Lily Nicksay, Linday RidgewayWilliam Russ and Betsy Randle are back in the media spotlight talking about Boy Meets World. Watch this Good Morning America clip and try not to smile the entire time.

Yes, both Morgans are taking part in this reunion. Nicksay played the Matthews sister during the first and second seasons, before disappearing for the longest timeout ever. Ridgeway played Morgan for the rest of the series.

Boy Meets World/Girl Meets World showrunner Michael Jacobs also told EW that he plans on finally letting fans know what happened to Mr. Turner, the teacher who also served as Shawn Hunter's guardian. The last we saw Mr. Turner was after he was in a motorcycle accident and in the hospital. Jacobs wouldn't answer EW's questions about Mr. Turner, but did hint that he had already talked to Anthony Tyler Quinn, the actor who played Turner, about circling back to the character down the road.

“If I get my way, you will find out what happened to Mr. Turner, and you will find out what happened to everybody,” he told EW during an interview for the annual EW reunions issue. “[Quinn] was one of the first people who got in touch with me after [Girl Meets World] was announced. And what it made me realize is not only does the audience, but the people who were on the show have a fondness for [the show]. So I will not answer your question…because I will answer the question on the series.”

Girl Meets World better be awesome. All of this Boy Meets World publicity has created extremely high expectations for the upcoming series.
