Bob Odenkirk Says 'Better Call Saul' Could Be a Mix of Prequel and Sequel

Better Call Saul, the in-production Breaking Bad spinoff, continues to evolve. Bob Odenkirk, the man who brought Saul Goodman to life on Breaking Bad, talked to IGN recently, sharing some updates on the series.

We've heard both that Better Call Saul will be a prequel and a sequel, with the show's status in flux as Breaking Bad wrapped up. Now that we know that Saul survived the Breaking Bad finale, we know that a sequel is possibly. Odenkirk told IGN that Better Call Saul could possibly be both prequel and sequel.

I know they’ve talked about prequel, but they’ve also talked to me about sequel, and they’ve also talked to me about a mix of prequel and sequel.

A show that flashed back and forth between prequel and sequel could be pretty interesting. While Breaking Bad gave us a slow and gradual evolution of its main character, a version of Better Call Saul that flipped between before Saul met Walter White and after Walt ruined his life would be quite the character contrast.

According to Odenkirk, "the writers are starting up in two or three weeks," which means we should start learning more soon.
