'Fast and Furious' Director Justin Lin to Helm 'Bourne Legacy' Sequel Starring Jeremy Renner
The good news? We're getting a new Bourne movie. The meh news? It'll be a sequel to The Bourne Legacy and once again star Jeremy Renner instead of having the franchise return to the superior Matt Damon installments.
On Friday, Deadline reported that Justin Lin had been selected by Universal Studios to direct the fifth Bourne movie. This isn't a surprise when you consider that Lin is the man who turned the Fast and Furious franchise into a huge moneymaker for the studio. I also didn't realize this until I was looking into Lin's career for this article, but he directed Modern Warfare, the original paintball episode of Community. How cool is that? I had no idea he the man behind pulling that episode off.
According to Deadline, Universal is looking at releasing Bourne 5 in summer 2015. Hey, every other movie in the world is being released in 2015, so why not add another one.
