National Board of Review Declares 'Her' the Best Film of 2013

We're in for a weird awards season. The National Board of Review announced its 2013 honorees on Wednesday, and the group's announcement did little to give any film the chance to build momentum. In the past few days, we've seen groups declare American Hustle and Inside Llewyn Davis the best films of 2013, but the National Board of Review went its own direction and awarded Spike Jonze's Her its Best Film distinction.

Notably absent from the National Board of Review's honorees were Gravity, 12 Years a Slave and Captain Phillips — how is this all going to shake out come Oscar time?
