'Goosebumps' Movie Will Star Jack Black and Hit Theaters in March 2016

Guys, the Goosebumps movie is actually happening. If you were a kid who knew how to read during the 1990s, you probably read a ton of Goosebumps books. Monster Blood. Night of the Living Dummy. The Haunted Mask. Some 20 years after you probably read those books, Goosebumps is going to make the jump to the big screen. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Goosebumps movie will open on March 23, 2016, and will star Jack Black.

We've known since September that Black was in talks to join Goosebumps. A previous report noted "that Black would play a Stine-like author whose scary characters literally leap off the page, forcing him to hide from his own creepy creations." Does that mean Black will be on the run from hamsters hopped up on monster blood and ventriloquists dummies out for blood? Boy, I really hope so.

I'm kind of surprised that Sony has slotted Goosebumps for March. Why not have some fun and put it in October?
