Fox Renews 'New Girl,' 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' and 'The Mindy Project'

Fox gave early renewals to three of its comedies on Friday, picking up New Girl, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Mindy Project project for additional seasons. The pickups will be the fourth season for New Girl, the second season for Brooklyn Nine-Nine and the third season for The Mindy Project.

The renewals for New Girl and Brooklyn Nine-Nine aren't really surprises, as New Girl has been Fox's strongest comedy and Brooklyn Nine-Nine recently won the Golden Globe for Best Television Series — Comedy or Musical. The Mindy Project's future was hazier, though, with Fox putting the show on midseason hiatus until April 1.
