'Star Wars Rebels' Gets an Extended Trailer

Sign me up for Star Wars Rebels. I was wary of the project when it was first announced, especially since it came with the cancelation of the phenomenal Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series, but everything I've seen from Rebels makes me think Lucasfilm has captured the tone of the Original Trilogy with this series.

The classic John Williams score. The roar of a TIE fighter. The blur of the stars as a ship jumps to hyperspace. It's all here.

Even if you're not a fan of animated Star Wars, Rebels should matter to you. If Lucasfilm is getting the tone right here, that bodes very well for Star Wars: Episode VII.

Star Wars Rebels is set between Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope, telling the story of the formation of the Rebel Alliance as the Empire works to wipe out the remaining Jedi. It airs on Disney XD beginning this October.
