JJ Abrams Confirms STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Trailer, AMC and Cinemark Will Show Teaser Too

JJ Abrams confirmed that we'll be getting the first trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens this Friday, tweeting a handwritten note that also revealed the trailer will run 88 seconds.

"A tiny* peek at what we're working on — this Friday in select theaters. Hope you enjoy, and have a most excellent Thanksgiving! Best, JJ," Abrams wrote, adding that the asterisk meant the trial would be 88 seconds long.

While the news earlier today was that Regal Cinemas would premiere the Force Awakens trailer in just nine theaters, AMC Theaters and Cinemark Theaters have both jumped into the mix.

No word yet how many theaters each chain will be showing the new Star Wars trailer in. Hopefully it's more than the measly nine theaters Regal is including in this premiere. The first Star Wars trailer in a decade should be available to as many fans as possible.
